Something strange has happened. My TBR (To Be Read) pile is down to a half dozen books. Yes, I know. Shocking, isn't it? I've just finished reading Jane Porter's She's Gone Country, and thoroughly enjoyed it. In fact, it stuck with me for several days. (I love Jane's writing -- and I had the privilege of meeting her and talking with her over coffee back in 2007 after I'd just had to walk out of one of her workshops--which was also fantastic--to pitch my very first story and get my first request.) I also just finished one of fellow TRW member Mary Sullivan's Super Romances, A Cowboy's Plan, and am about to dive into the next in that series, This Cowboy's Son.
But that finishes off all the contemporaries in my pile, the rest are historicals or paranormals. So help me out. Read any good contemporaries lately? I'm not big on inspirationals, but other than that I'm pretty open. Heat level -- hey, I write hot, but your recommendations can be anything from closed door to blow the doors wide open and turn on the video cameras, it doesn't matter to me. Oh, and the one thing I am looking for is something from one of the bigger publishers that can be bought in print.
So tell me ... read any good contemporaries lately that I shouldn't miss?
