Blogger Katiebabs experienced bullying first hand as a child and has decided she'd use her blog to raise funds and awareness. If she gets 500 comments, she'll donate $500 to:
$250 will go to The Trevor Project, “the leading national organization focused on crisis and suicide prevention efforts among lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) youth.”Several others, including myself, have added to Katie's original pledge and the pot is now sitting at $775 for 500 comments.
$250 will go to the Matthew Shepard Foundation was founded by Dennis and Judy Shepard in memory of their 21-year old son, Matthew, who was murdered in an anti-gay hate crime in Wyoming in October 1998. Their mission is to “educate and enlighten others on the importance of diversity, understanding, compassion, acceptance and respect.”
Now it's up to you -- go to Katie's blog and take the time to leave a comment to support this cause.
