Why is it when you have one commitment, sixteen thousand others all pop their heads up and demand attention too?
Okay, so I'm given to hyperbole, but life's getting busy here. I went out yesterday afternoon and did some brainstorming with fellow Samhain author Anara Bella. Anara helped me solve some issues that have been bugging me lately about the western WIP.
Today, I have a doctor's appointment this morning, and I have to run Curly out to the mall this afternoon -- which works anyway since it's Gizmo Guy's birthday tomorrow and I really need to buy him a prezzy or two. (To be honest, I bought him a huge-a$$ Lazy-Boy chair earlier this year that was supposed to be his Father's Day present/Birthday present combined, AND he bought himself a desk chair for the rolltop desk he bought a month ago through a local charity organization. (The desk, not the chair.) Except I'd told him I'd buy him the chair as a birthday present. *sigh* That man can be so tough to give presents to when he goes out and gets them himself. Ooops, got a little verbose there, didn't I? (inside joke with Vivian Arend, Rowan Larke and a few others.)
Tomorrow, as I said, is Gizmo Guy's birthday - I've promised to buy him a birthday lunch since he'll be working at the local data center and I can pop out for that.
Saturday I'm in Toronto for the monthly Toronto Romance Writers' meeting, Sunday I've promised to meet a friend for coffee -- we get together once a month. My paranormal romance reader's group just sent me a reminder that their monthly meeting is coming up ... and people keep sending me emails and Twittering about how they've started/finished their Christmas shopping already.
Arrrgh! So much to do, so little time!
What do you do when life gets busy? Got any tricks you care to share?
