Happy Valentine's Day

I don't have a romantic story to tell about how Gizmo Guy proposed to me because I can't remember him actually proposing as in saying "Will you marry me?", it was sort of an organic process that we both had talked about for months before he actually gave me the ring. (Besides it wasn't on Valentine's Day but on November 12th)

And I can't count the number of Valentine's Days we haven't spent together because he travelled a lot for his job. But he's always - ALWAYS - managed to do something special for me. And this morning was no different.

We'd already discussed that we'd given each other our Valentine's Day presents - his for me was the two night stay at the hotel room for my course a while back, mine for him was a copy of the second season of Two and a Half Men - one of his favourite shows. (Boy, that sounds lopsided, doesn't it?) And I took him out to dinner last night. So I wasn't expecting anything.

But this morning - after a hectic morning of driving Guitar Hero around so he could deliver roses and a teddy bear to his girlfriend - I came home to discover that somehow, unseen by me, Gizmo Guy had slid a special Valentine's Day Toblerone Bar complete with rose into my laptop case. Now I have to admit that I'm not a big fan of chocolate. I know, I know, that's almost sacriligious to admit, isn't it? But the thing weighs nearly a pound. If I eat it all myself, it will take me weeks to shed the pounds on the treadmill. Heck, who am I kidding? Months if not years! So I'll wait until he comes back this evening and share it with him then. Which may be what he was hoping anyway. ;)
