He works night shift at a local business and most mornings I pick him up to give him a driving lesson. Occasionally, as I did this morning, I go into the store and buy supplies, especially since he can get me a ten percent discount. I don't think he'll be too quick to offer that to me any more.
You see while I was there, one of his co-workers asked him if I was his girlfriend.
Me. His Mom!
What's worse? Apparently, it's not the first time it's happened.
So he asked them how old they thought he was. Here's where I can see why he got a little cheesed off.
"Between thirty-two and thirty-seven!" two of them replied.
Ouch!
So while I'm feeling pretty darned smug this morning that I might still be able to pass for someone fifteen years younger than I am, he ... well, as I said, he's slightly grossed out. And more than a little disgruntled.

Oh Leah he sounds adorable!! And I had know a friend who looked 30 at twenty, and now that he's 50 he STILL looks 30 like he did at 20 . . . so this might pay off for your son in the long run. Really. ;) And you are super young, so yes, do gloat!! lol
Hugs!!
ROTFLMAO!!
Just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed meeting you at the lunch and writer's meeting last week!
As for you looking like you could be your son's girlfriend - it could be worse. You could be adding a stone in your family ring for your new daughter and have the jeweler ask if it's for a grandchild. Happened to my high school boyfriend's mom.
OH how funny!!!
Poor Alex, but you deserve every bit of gloat so just enjoy it!
Red - good point, I'll point out to him that when he's my age maybe he'll look younger than he is too. (Come to think of it I used to be able to get into 18 and over movies when I was 15 without being challenged, while my legal-aged sister was always questioned. So you're probably right.)
Julia - I enjoyed meeting you too. And Oy! yes, your friend's situation would be so much worse.
